This exceptional Lamborghini Miura P400 SV, chassis number 5054, represents the pinnacle of the model's evolution. It is one of just 96 late-production examples equipped with the coveted split-sump lubrication system, featuring separate oil reservoirs for the engine and transaxle, enabling the use of specialized lubricants for each component. Not only did this avoid cross-contamination of the two lubricants, but in doing so, significantly improved the long-term reliability of the engine. As such, chassis 5054 embodies the most desirable specification of Lamborghini's groundbreaking supercar.

Completed on 6 March 1972, factory records confirm this Miura was ordered through Swiss Lamborghini importer and former racing driver Karl Foitek (Garage Foitek), specified in a distinctive shade of Bleu Tahiti Metallic (1463 177). Handwritten Bertone records further reveal its unique specification: Pelle Naturale (natural leather), cruscotto Bleu (Blue dashboard), sedili con panno Beige scurro Dino (seats with cloth in Dino Dark Beige), and aria condizionata (air conditioning). Notably, chassis 5054 is one of only two Miura SVs ever finished in the striking shade of Bleu Tahiti Metallic.

Days after completion, the new SV was exhibited on the Lamborghini display at the 1972 Geneva Salon de l'Automobile—period images of which are on file. After gracing the Salon, this Miura found its first home with German owner R. Mehl of Ansbach, Germany, beginning a well-documented chain of careful owners from new. Later that year, it passed to long-term owner Wilhelm Hinghaus, remaining in his care for an impressive 32 years. During this time, it made occasional appearances at prestigious events, including Lamborghini's 40th anniversary celebration in 2003. In 2005, it changed hands via dealer Simon Kidston to two brief German owners before being exported to the United States in 2011. For the next decade, it resided in the collection of Irv Kessler in Phoenix, Arizona before joining a Virginia-based collection in 2021.

Today, chassis 5054 presents in a remarkably original condition, a testament to the meticulous care lavished upon it by its five devoted owners. The interior remains untouched, preserving its unique original finishes and rare factory air conditioning. The car also retains its matching-numbers engine, with number 30706 clearly stamped on the block beneath the carburetor intake. Further demonstrating its originality, both front and rear clamshells bear the correct body stampings of 827 along their top folds at the centerline. This level of preservation is seldom encountered in Miuras, underscoring 5054's unrivalled originality.

In 2022, the car underwent a comprehensive service by the renowned Italian Miura mechanics at Top Motors Salvioli S.r.l. The work included a detailed technical and cosmetic refreshing of several elements, preserving the car's original look and components while ensuring proper functionality. Mechanically, Salvioli's expert team cleaned the spark plugs and optimized engine performance, adjusted the brake pedal and handbrake, overhauled the air conditioning system, and stabilized the driver's seat. Electrical work by Gatti William Elettrauto encompassed repairing and reinstalling the original Autovox radio. Additionally, minor touch-ups to the exterior finish were conducted by Cremonini Classic—the same shop that performed the original re-paint in Bleu Tahiti Metallic ten years prior. This meticulous refresh, which exceeded €43,000, positions chassis 5054 as a truly exemplary specimen, offering the perfect balance between preservation and usability.

Such a confluence of desirable elements including its split-sump specification, ultra rare factory livery, unbroken chain of documented ownership from its Geneva Salon debut to the present day, and phenomenal preservation, position chassis number 5054 as arguably the finest example of Lamborghini's iconic supercar extant. Prior to delivery, the car was serviced by RR Auto Restoration in Mount Kisco, New York to ensure trouble-free running. Additionally, a complete corrective detail was carried out and documented by AMMO NYC and Larry Kosilla. Complete with an impressive array of original accessories and documentation, the car is accompanied by its original tool roll, jack, safety triangle, first aid kit, soft car cover, headlight adjuster, Kidston report, owner's manual, service records, and keys.
